RALEIGH -- Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest released the following statement on Monday, March 7th, calling on the North Carolina Senate to agree to a special session to address the recent Charlotte City Council vote.

"As President of the Senate I will call the Senate back into session upon the Constitutionally required 3/5ths majority given written notice consenting to be called back in. I am working on this now. If you feel the same, call your Senators. We already have 3/5ths in the House agreeing to be called back in. We must take action before the ordinance goes into effect on April 1st."
