On Thursday, Lieutenant Governor Rachel Hunt visited Pamlico Community College as a part of her Future-Ready Community College Tour.

“My visit to Pamlico Community College was really special,” said Lt. Governor Hunt. “I often say that some of the best work that’s happening in our state is happening in our community colleges. Pamlico Community College exemplifies that. President Zac Schnell and his team are doing incredible, life changing work in this community.”

“It was wonderful to welcome the Lieutenant Governor to Pamlico County, and we had a great time showing her around our campus,” said Pamlico Community College President Zac Schnell. “At Pamlico Community College, we often say we’re small but mighty. But make no mistake: the work we’re doing here is having a huge human impact. We are training our students for the high-earning, Future-Ready jobs across many sectors. We also are equipping them with the skills they need to be human-centric in their fields. I’m proud of our faculty and staff for providing customized experiences for our students, even if it’s just to add a little magic to their day.”

Lt. Governor Hunt toured the facilities, heard from the Prison Education leadership team, learned about the Electrical Systems Technology program, and took part in a welding simulator.

Since its founding, tens of thousands of students have benefited from the individual, personalized attention the Pamlico Community College provides to its students. PCC features varied disciplines in Academic programs, Continuing Education programs,  Cultural Enrichment programs, and a highly regarded prison education program at Pamlico Correctional Institution.
