In a significant step towards honoring the courageous acts of North Carolina's bravest citizens,
the office of the Lieutenant Governor is proud to announce the launch of the North Carolina
Medal of Valor webpage on the official Lt. Governor’s website.
The North Carolina Medal of Valor, established to recognize acts of extraordinary heroism and
sacrifice by our first responders, serves as a testament to the unwavering courage and
selflessness of our state’s residents. The newly inaugurated webpage will give first responders
that ability to be nominated for this prestigious honor.
Lt. Governor Robinson expressed his deep commitment to acknowledging and honoring those who display exceptional bravery in the face of danger. "The North Carolina Medal of Valor
represents the highest form of recognition for those who demonstrate remarkable courage
and selflessness. By establishing this dedicated webpage, we aim to ensure that the
inspiring stories of our state's heroes are heard and celebrated for generations to come."
Rep. Charlie Miller expressed, “It was an honor to be a primary sponsor on this bill, and to
be able to help give first responders the recognition that they deserve. Throughout my
tenure, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication and unwavering commitment exhibited
by our state's first responders in the face of adversity. These brave men and women
embody the true spirit of heroism, often risking their own safety to safeguard the lives of
others.”
Sen. Norman Sanderson remarked, “The launch of the North Carolina Medal of Valor
webpage is a testament to the valor and sacrifice exemplified by individuals in our state. It
is crucial that we acknowledge and honor the courageous deeds of North Carolinians who
put their lives on the line to protect others.”
“I am thrilled to see the unveiling of the North Carolina Medal of Valor webpage,” Sen.
Michael Lee said. “This initiative serves as a powerful tribute to the brave men and women
who demonstrate extraordinary courage in the face of danger.”
The launch of the North Carolina Medal of Valor webpage underscores the Lt. Governor's
steadfast commitment to honoring the valiant efforts of North Carolinians who go above and
